Random Events
Random Events are one of the oldest, and most defining, features of Neopets. As the name implies, they are events that randomly happen while you're navigating the Neopets site.
History
On March 19, 2014, a mysterious random event began popping up around Neopia, which eventually led us to meeting Dr. Landelbrot, who is in charge of maintaining the machine that generates Random Events in Neopia. After Neopia helped him repair the machine, Random Events returned to Neopia... albeit updated to be shiny and new!

Side Accounts
TNT has reiterated many times in the Editorial that items and Neopoints received from Random Events on side accounts are allowed to be kept! This is because the events are truly random: the player has no control over if and what they get.
Daily Limit
There is no confirmed daily limit to the number of Random Events an account can receive, though nobody has received more than 8 regular Random Events in a day, which is likely the limit. Additionally, the Premium Random Events appear to have their own limit, which is likely set at 20 in a day, as nobody has received more than that.
Birthday Bonus
Random Events occur more frequently when the "Happy Birthday!" Site Theme is active, which happens on the birthday listed on your account, and on the site's birthday: November 15th! However, the daily limit still seems to apply on these days.
Event Loading
Most of the time, your Random Event will appear immediately at the top of the page. However, in some circumstances, it takes a little longer to load and some placeholder text "Something is happening..." will appear instead until the event is loaded.

To find a particular event, try hitting Ctrl + F on your keyboard to type in a key word. There are a lot to sort through!
These events are completely separate from the "random" events you receive when completing a quest for Dr. Landelbrot. You can read more about his events on our Aboard the Coincidence guide.
These are also separate from Faerie Quests which may appear randomly while on the site.
Random Events that are exclusive to Terror Mountain can only occur on pages whose URL starts with www.neopets.com/winter. Random Events that are exclusive to Tyrannia can only occur on pages whose URL starts with www.neopets.com/prehistoric.
