Swashbuckling Academy
The Swashbuckling Academy is a training school run by Cap'n Threelegs where you can train your Neopets in exchange for Dubloons to prepare for the Battledome. You can train here until your pet reaches Level 40, at which point training must be continued at the Mystery Island Training School.
The following stats are available to train:
- Strength
- Defence
- Agility/Movement
- Endurance/Hit Points
- Level
Limitations
All stats are only allowed to be trained to twice your pet's level, except for Hit Points (Endurance), which can go three times higher than your level. However, if your Hit Points are more than twice your level, you will not be able to train any other stat. In order to train other stats once again, you must train your level up until your Hit Points are at most twice your level.
Paying For Courses
When you enroll in a course, you will be asked to pay with Dubloons, though only the One, Two, and Five Dubloon Coins are used here.

You can get Dubloons from other users' shops, Coltzan's Shrine and Anchor Management.
The Dubloon required and the time to complete the course are based on your pet's current level:

You can reduce these times by 30-75% by using the Training Fortune Cookie (which lasts for 5 days) or the Deluxe Training Fortune Cookie (which lasts for 10 days).
You may only complete one course per pet at a time. The timer doesn't start until you have paid for the course. Each course requires exact change. Because the course only accepts the exact coin requested, no change can be made, and multiple lower-denomination coins cannot be redeemed for a larger dubloon payment.
When you have your Dubloon, head over to the status page, and click "pay". If you change your mind or select the wrong choice by mistake, courses can be canceled if they haven't been paid for. Remember to come back when the timer is up and click "Complete Course" for the stat increase to take effect.
Level 40 limit: Although the table indicates pets including Level 40 can be trained at the Academy, and pets at Level 40 will be available for training in the dropdown, they cannot be trained in Level. (They can continue to train in any other stat.) Attempting to enroll in a Level course will present the following error:

It's unknown if this is intended behaviour or a glitch.
Free Training
Free training is available to Neopets on three days per year:
- November 15th, to celebrate Neopets.com's birthday
- The Pet Day for your specific Neopet (e.g. Grundo Day)
- For Premium users only: the day after your specific Neopet's birthday, which you can reference on their pet lookup
The Premium perk has been stated by TNT in the past to offer free training on your Neopets's birthday, but curiously it actually happens on the day after instead.
Jubjub morphing issue! If you morph a Jubjub, it will be unable to train on Jubjub day. If that newly-morphed Jubjub is then painted, however, it
will be able to be enrolled in courses on Jubjub day. If you notice this issue with any other species, please
let us know!
