Trudy's Surprise Slot Machine is a daily that features prizes of increasing potential worth for each consecutive day that it's played, up to 25 days. At that point, prizes reset and the process begins again. Only players over the age of 13 are able to use Trudy's Surprise.
The machine was discovered by Trudy while on a long walk around Neopia.
The machine first appeared on July 17, 2015, with glitches that prevented prizes from being awarded. It was fixed by the 18th, and properly announced in New Features on July 24th.

Trudy's Surprise is available to spin once per day, starting at midnight NST each day. A notification is sent to you upon your first page load of the day. If you do not wish to receive the notification (on side accounts, for example) you can disable it in your preferences. You will not be able to spin the wheel if it is disabled in preferences.
It is possible for your streak to reset even if you have received your prize for that day! In order to be certain your streak will be maintained the following day, make sure you can see the "Come back Tomorrow" button after refreshing the page.

Daylight Savings Time Glitch
When Daylight Savings Times begins for the United States (typically in early March), the day following the clock change, the Trudy's Surprise streak appears reset for all Neopians and prevents you from spinning for that day. However, the next day the 25-day streak will be back at the streak count you were supposed to be at. The 7-day streak for the bonus item will stay reset, though, and the streak starts anew that next day.
Previous Reset
When it was first released, Trudy's Surprise was available to spin every 24 hours rather than once a day, regardless of what time you spun. For example, if you spun it at 5:12 PM NST, you would not be able to spin it again until 5:13 PM NST the following day. This setup was changed in June 2016.
Prizes
Your prize is awarded based on matching icons in your daily spin. Should you get 2 unique pairs of matching symbols (say two creams and two yoyos), they will count as if you had 4 matching symbols.

Matching absolutely no symbols can activate a Bad Luck Bonus - where more Neopoints than the jackpot are awarded - although this happens randomly when receiving no matches.

Here's something to cheer you up – the Terrifyingly Bad Luck Bonus!
This bonus is only available once per 7 days per user if a streak is reset before 25 days, and only once per 25-day streak. Each time you fail to match any icons after having received the bonus during a streak, you will instead only receive the normal no matches prize until you begin a new streak and it has been at least 7 days since last receiving the bonus.

Any spin, matches or not, also has a random chance to award a Neocash gift box along with the Neopoint prize:
You can receive a total of 3 gift boxes in a consecutive 25-day streak. As soon as your spin streak resets, either from missing a day or completing the full 25 days, you can start to earn more gift boxes in your new streak again.
Should you miss a day at any point, the prizes will reset to Day 1 levels and you must begin again. The same will happen once you claim your 25th spin in a row. Premium subscribers have the option to utilize a Streak Save Ticket twice per calendar month to keep a streak from resetting after a missed spin.
7 Day Streak Prizes
Announced on August 23, 2018, item prizes were added for completing a spin every day for 7 consecutive days. New prize sets are added periodically, and the newest set appears to be awarded from most frequently.
Since February 22, 2022, all previously-released prize pools are able to be awarded from. Originally, each prize set was only available for a certain random amount of time.

On January 17, 2024, a fourteenth set of item prizes was released for the 7 day streak. These have been available for 541 days and counting, and were originally live for 104 days prior to the fifteenth pool's release.
Unactivated items! The items for the fourteenth set of prizes appeared at the daily starting in the morning, but were not properly activated or awarded to user's inventories until about 3pm in the afternoon of the 17th. If spun prior to this time, no item was awarded.

On August 11, 2023, a thirteenth set of item prizes was released for the 7 day streak. These have been available for 700 days and counting, and were originally live for 159 days prior to the fourteenth pool's release.

On March 19, 2023, a twelfth set of item prizes was released for the 7 day streak. These have been available for 845 days and counting, and were originally live for 145 days prior to the thirteenth pool's release.
Daylight savings strikes! Several of the items from this set were announced as coming soon in the news dated
March 18th, but due to Daylight Savings falling on the 12th and resetting everybody's bonus item streak then, none of the items were available on the site until March 19th.

Due to the fact that Trudy's Surprise awards Neopoints, users cannot take part in it as a daily activity on side accounts. To avoid seeing the pop-up when visiting a side account, select the Block Trudy's Surprise option in the Site Preferences of any account you would like to disable it on.
